MORE DETAILS (for those of you that like that sort of thing):

We need actors and backstage hands for every role. A Midsummer Night’s Dream is perhaps Shakespeare’s most accessible play and one of his shortest. If you’ve ever had the itch to try Shakespeare, this is a great entry point. If anyone you know is interested, please forward this information to them, too.

We've selected a somewhat abridged script from Shakespeare Out Loud as our starting point, though we’ll probably make more cuts to tailor it to our needs. All this is to say, I understand this play is an intimidating undertaking. But fear not! There are ways to meet Shakespeare in the middle and still put on an incredible performance.

For the casting call, all I ask is that you bring a Shakespearean monologue or sonnet. You needn’t memorize it. I just want to hear how you read Shakespearean language so we can find the best character fit for you.

Speaking of which, here’s the cast of characters. Pick your first, second, and third choice. You’ll list those on the handouts I provide during the casting call.

THESEUS Duke of Athens
HIPPOLYTA Queen of the Amazons, betrothed to Theseus
